Café Alcazar is one of St. Augustine’s most unique restaurants. Highly recommended, this café is located on the ground floor of the Lightner Museum building and surrounded by several little antique shops. This restaurant offers an amazing atmosphere for lunch, seven days a week. Café Alcazar is also open every first Friday of the month for dinner, during the Art Walk in St. Augustine, a community event every first Friday of the month. At Café Alcazar guests will find a variety of dishes, from salads and soups to Seafood and Sandwiches. A fabulous place for a quiet lunch and to listen to the classical guitar played by local musician Richard Kuncicky. This restaurant is a fine dining establishment, yet casual attire is appropriate. Here you will find fine food, a relaxed atmosphere, and warm hospitality.

Henry M. Flagler built the Alcazar Hotel and Casino, now known as theLightnerMuseum in 1888. The Alcazar housed the world’s largest indoor pool during its day, and now this pool is home to the Alcazar Café. The café is almost hidden in the deep end of the old pool and shops filled with antiques surround it. Three floors of balconies surround the ground floor and are topped by 50-foot glass roof frames and wooden cross beams. This restaurant offers a unique gilded era experience with affordable gourmet dining and entertainment in the nation’s oldest city, St Augustine, Florida.

If you haven’t visited the Lightner Museum itself, do take the time to go through these luxurious rooms of the original Hotel Alcazar as they are filled with collectibles from around the world. Each floor can be easily accessed by elevator. The walls throughout the museum also portray amazing art work – many of St Augustine’s own street scenes.
