Theatre Production “Check, Please” opens Aug. 2nd at St Augustine’s Raintree Restaurant
One of St Augustine’s exclusive restaurants – Raintree presents the grand opening debut of “Check, Please” by Jonathan Rand. This special production has played internationally for several years, and shows a series of blind date disasters in a restaurant atmosphere. The show certainly proves that dating can be hard! Who can think of a better setting for this show other than in the Raintree Restaurant itself!
Showings for this hilarious production are scheduled for Aug. 2, Aug. 16, Aug. 23 and Aug. 30. The show is produced by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc. (www.playscripts.com).
Author Jonathan Rand’s theater scripts have been produced by more than 6,400 theaters in the United States and in 45 countries total around the world. He has been twice honored by the Actors Theatre of Louisville as a Heideman Award finalist. Mr. Rand is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, and was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida.
The teaming of “Check, Please” with the Raintree Restaurant seems all too natural. The century-old Victorian building now Raintree Restaurant is one of the last surviving the post-Civil War period of development in St Augustine, Florida. Theatre performances here are set in an all-too-real staging.
Tickets are $39.95 per person, all inclusive, with adult beverages sold separately at an additional charge.
Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. (suggested arrival time is 6 p.m.), with the show to follow at 7:30 p.m. Ticketholders do note that the dinner and show are in the upstairs dining room.
Thinking of this amazing dining experience for another occasion? Raintree is located in the uptown district of St Augustine at 102 San Marco Ave. Be sure to visit http://www.raintreerestaurant.com/ for more information about “Check, Please” and general restaurant inquiries. Reservations can be made in advance from 2 p.m. to close, seven days a week at the restaurant, or by calling 824-7211.
